DORA MALECH is a poet and visual artist who teaches at the University of Iowa and directs the Iowa Youth Writing Project, a language arts outreach organization. She earned her BA in Fine Arts with a focus on painting and printmaking at Yale, and she earned her MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She is the author of two books of poems, Say So (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2011) and Shore Ordered Ocean (Waywiser Press, 2009), and her poems have appeared in publications that include The New Yorker, Poetry, and Poetry London. This month, her drawings, paintings, and prints are on display at the Mars Cafe in Des Moines, IA. Her poetry is forthcoming in the anthology The New Census, which will be released from Rescue Press in June.
